How Medical Impractice Impacts Families
There are multiple variations of cerebral palsy, that range from moderate to severe. It is very surprising to find that the majority of cerebral palsy cases involve damage to the brain during childbirth. No matter the cause it is not the parents fault. If you are ever confronted with this issue and questions that you need answered feel free to contact our law firm and we will walk with you through your journey of discovery and understanding.
"Cerebral" means brain, and "palsy" means disorder of movement or posture. The symptoms of cerebral palsy can vary depending on how much trauma the brain sustained during delivery. Children have disorders of movement which bring on other serious medical conditions ranging from learning, visual, hearing, behavior and even epilepsy. There are four main types of Cerebral Palsy: Spastic, Ataxic, Athetoid or Dyskinetic and mixed. No matter which one your child is impaired with you and your family have rights. A right to know what is going on, what is to be expected and a right to be heard if it is the fault of the medical practitioner and a mishap that could have been avoided.
Our law firm plans on assisting you in every way possible and answering your main question: What went wrong? We believe in compassion and understand that a major issue plaguing the medical system is poor care for patients. Everybody deserves equal care and that is what we strive for at our law firm.
The majority of Cerebral Palsy cases that we see are due to avoidable errors made on behalf of the medical staff, the most prominent issue is how the child was left too long in the birth canal. Other identifiable conditions that with proper testing and treatment would have been completely avoidable. Our law firm is here to insure that you gain the full knowledge of what happened before, during and after your child's birth, we are also here to insure that you receive the attention that you deserve.
Unlike other medical malpractice cases, Cerebral Palsy has a statute of limitations that varies from state to state. There is also multiple types of public funding that can help so don't let your worries keep you from taking the next step. Although the cause of Cerebral Palsy can be sometimes be unidentifiable we will exhaust every possible resource to help you gain the understanding and compensation that you deserve.
