The negligent actions of others tend to cause major injuries to innocent people. It’s imperative that they get representation that will fight for their rights. A Glen Burnie personal injury lawyer from Belsky & Horowitz, LLC will do just that. We believe in standing up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. We’ll do everything we can to get you the compensation you deserve.

Our lawyers are experienced in personal injury law and are passionate about representing our clients’ rights. When you’ve been hurt by someone else and are looking for justice, it’s important to have a skilled professional by your side. The legal process can be confusing and overwhelming to handle on your own. When we’re representing you, we’ll make sure your claim is properly filed and on time so you have the best chance of success. You can rest assured knowing that our Glen Burnie personal injury attorney is going to do everything possible to win you a successful settlement.

What Happens After an Accident?

The moments, days, and even weeks after an accident can be difficult and confusing. You may still be trying to come to terms with what happened. It’s jarring to be hurt because of someone else’s negligence. While you know that they were at fault, you may be wondering about making a claim and how to proceed.

Insurance companies will often try to get in touch with you as soon as possible. At some point, you may be approached by an insurance adjuster who wants to discuss your settlement. Their goal is to settle the matter. This option may seem like a good one at first, just so the matter is behind you. However, their goal is to get you to settle early because that will likely save them money—and possibly leave you with a settlement that’s less than you deserve. The insurance company is protecting their best interests, not yours.

When an insurance adjuster is speaking with you, it could be before you know the extent of your injuries or the care you’re going to need. This can lead to issues with affording medical care down the road. It’s in your best interests to not give any official statements, sign any documents, or agree on a settlement offer. Know that they’ll try to use any statements you make against you to reduce your settlement.

For example, they may ask about your symptoms. You could mention you’re feeling neck pain, but then later find that neck pain is a result of a back injury. However, you never mentioned issues about your back and may not get coverage for a back injury. They could question why you didn’t mention back pain in the first place. This can lead to financial difficulties in the future when it’s time to start paying back medical bills. It’s best to have a personal injury attorney at your side to make sure you’re giving the insurance company the necessary information they need, but not putting your claim in jeopardy.

The best move you can make to protect your rights is to hire a Glen Burnie personal injury lawyer. The lawyers at Belsky & Horowitz, LLC have handled communication with many insurance companies in the past. With us at your side, you won’t need to worry about harassing phone calls or visits from adjusters who are trying to make you settle for less than what you’re owed. What Can Our Law Firm Do for You?

Belsky & Horowitz, LLC is proud to be based in Baltimore, and we extend our services to all those in Maryland who need our help. When you hire an attorney, they will conduct an investigation of your case. This will include finding out how the other party was negligent, how their actions affected you, and what your injuries cost you and will continue to cost you.

When you think about what the accident cost you, you may immediately think about this in financial terms. These losses are referred to as economic damages—you can assign a direct dollar amount. Your economic damages may include past medical bills if you stayed in the hospital, needed medication, or other forms of treatment. We’ll also look at the cost of future medical expenses for continued recovery. If you’ll need types of therapy, continue a certain medication, or need to undergo surgical procedures, we’ll seek recovery for those costs as well. Your medical costs aren’t the only financial loss you could be experiencing. After an injury occurs, you may not be able to return to work for a period of time. While you may have sick time and PTO, that may not be enough to cover the time you’ll be off from work while you recover. Missing those days of pay can cause significant financial stress.

Our Glen Burnie personal injury attorney will fight for you to recover your lost wages so you can continue to support yourself and anyone else who depends on you financially. You’ll be able to have peace of mind knowing you won’t have to worry about affording medical care and keeping up with costs of living like paying bills and buying groceries. If the accident also caused property damage, like from a car accident, then your compensation can cover those losses, too.

While your accident may have caused financial losses, it will also cause other kinds of losses. The consequences of an accident may result in considerable emotional damages—referred to as noneconomic damages. Noneconomic damages are more difficult to calculate, but still an important part of your claim. The pain and suffering you endured or loss of enjoyment of life as a result of your injury aren’t items one can easily assign a monetary amount, but these are still outcomes of your wrongful injury. A skilled lawyer will look at the whole picture of your injury, which includes how it has and will continue to affect your future.

A personal injury caused by another can cause pain and suffering. The injury may have painful symptoms and you may have to deal with these symptoms for some time while you heal. The treatment may also cause pain if surgery is necessary. Another aspect of noneconomic damages is the loss of enjoyment of life. If you’re unable to live your life the same way as before the accident, you may not be able to do things that used to bring you joy. Your injury could prevent you from doing things like riding a bike, gardening, or playing a sport. You may struggle to do basic everyday tasks. Finding that simple tasks are now a struggle when you never had to give them a second thought before the injury can be frustrating and it will take time for you to adjust—but the emotional toll of it still happened because of someone else’s negligence.

After diligently going over those details, your personal injury attorney will have an ideal settlement number in mind for you. This will help you cover the costs of the accident and live comfortably as you heal from your injury.

The team at Belsky & Horowitz, LLC understands how important it is for you to receive fair compensation for what you’ve been through. Our Glen Burnie personal injury lawyer will look into all the accident has cost you. We’ll gather the evidence necessary that you deserve maximum compensation for your injuries. To get started on your case, give our office a call today.

What Kinds of Personal Injury Cases Do We Handle?

Our firm has helped countless personal injury victims get the justice they deserve. Our lawyers are skilled in many areas of personal injury law. Some examples of cases we handle include:

When these accidents occur, innocent people often suffer horrible injuries. In the most severe cases, they can be catastrophic. These injuries can cause a permanent disability or condition that will stop the person from being able to return to the workforce. This will completely change a person’s life and without being able to rely on work, they may wonder how they’re going to get the care they need. They may know they can take legal action but can be hesitant to contact a lawyer because they’re not sure they want to go through the legal process. While the legal process can take time, it’s important to remember having a Glen Burnie personal injury attorney at your side ensures that your rights are protected.

If your case deals with another area of personal injury law, you should still contact our attorneys. We understand that everyone’s case will have its own unique details and circumstances. Our lawyers will review your case and go over your options.

When our lawyers are representing you in a personal injury case, there are a few things we’ll have to prove. First, we’ll need to establish the defendant owed you a duty of care. We’ll then show how they breached that duty of care and acted negligently. Using your medical records and other evidence we can gather, we’ll prove their negligence caused your injuries, and you’ve suffered losses and damages because of it. As an example, this could be showing that a driver owed you a duty of care to drive safely, they breached this care by texting and driving, they veered into your lane and caused an accident, and you were injured and will need medical care to heal those injuries.

While many personal injury cases are typically settled out of court, there may be a situation where you need to take your case to the next level. Our lawyers are prepared to fight for your case in court. We know that going into a courtroom can be intimidating. We’ll also go over the process and will help you prepare for the trial so you know what to expect.

Our Glen Burnie personal injury lawyer is ready to stand up for those who were wrongfully injured and hold those responsible for their injuries accountable for their actions. We’re trained in investigating cases and finding the evidence we need to help support your case. Our firm will also reach out to experts if necessary. We’re here to fight for you to get the compensation you deserve.

A Closer Look at Glen Burnie

Glen Burnie has an interesting history. In 1812, Elias Glenn, a district attorney, named his property “Glennsburne.” He also established a county seat in Baltimore City. As his grandson brought business to their land, they became successful in the 19th century. They owned several thousands of acres of land. Within the next few generations of the family, the town was officially called Glenburnie in 1888. Many years later in 1930, Louis J. DeAlba, the postmaster, made the final edit that made that split the name into two words, which is what it is called today.

During the 1920s and 1930s, the town began to get more famous due to the opening of two highways: Crain Highway and Ritchie Highway. Glen Burnie also had the first shopping mall built on the United States East Coast in the late 50s. As another was built in the 60s, Glen Burnie was bringing in a lot of businesses and activities for its citizens. This resulted in the development of apartments, houses, and retirement communities.

As of 2016, the population of Glen Burnie was 69,499. It’s definitely grown over the years since its establishment. Glen Burnie is a gorgeous place with plenty of delicious restaurants and unique attractions for everyone to enjoy.

There are many parks for those who love to be outside. They can see the natural beauty of Glen Burnie and enjoy walking when the weather is pleasant. There are also parks with playgrounds that allow children to play and establish a sense of community. Sawmill Creek Park, Friendship Park, Kinder Farm Park, and Patapsco State Park are all fantastic places to check out.

For those who like the nightlife, Glen Burnie is a short drive away from the Live! Casino & Hotel. They can go enjoy all that the casino has to offer, which is more than just gambling. They typically have fun events and shows that everyone will love to see.

Glen Burnie also has an interesting art installation attraction, a mirror yard. An artist has turned his front yard into a collection of reflective mirrors, building beautiful sculptures and mosaics that you’ll surely never forget.
